Your Right to Delete Data

At Historacle, we value your privacy and your right to control your personal data. In accordance with applicable data protection laws and platform requirements (including Google OAuth), you have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated data.

Delete Your Account in the App

You can delete your account yourself at any time:

  1. Sign in and open any conversation.
  2. Open the menu and choose Profile.
  3. Select Delete account at the bottom and confirm.

Your account is deleted immediately. If your account was created by your school, ask your teacher or school to delete it.

Request Deletion by Email

If you can't sign in, you can ask us to delete your account and data instead:

  1. Email Request: Send an email to support@editlingo.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
  2. Include Details: In the body of the email, please include:
    • Your full name
    • The email address associated with your account
    • A statement confirming you wish to delete your account
  3. Verification: We may contact you to verify your identity before processing the request to ensure the security of your account.

What Happens Next?

Deleting in the app takes effect immediately. For email requests, once your request is verified, we delete your account within 30 days. Deletion is irreversible.

Deleted: your profile, conversations (your messages and the characters' replies), notes, journeys and progress, what characters remember about you, your feedback, and the activity history tied to you.

Kept without your name or email: payment and usage cost records, which we must keep for accounting, and security logs that show an account took an action. Characters, lessons or classrooms you made for others stay available to them, without your name on them.

Memberships: an active membership is cancelled before your account is deleted.

Deleted data leaves our backups within 7 days.
